Before You Request
Start with the most accurate size possible
A professional finger measurement is the best starting point. Finger size can change with temperature, time of day, band width and normal swelling, so one measurement may not tell the whole story.
Measure professionally
Ask a local jeweller to measure the intended finger using sizing rings similar in width to your Abbett ring.
Measure at a normal time
Avoid measuring when your hands are unusually cold, hot or swollen. Late afternoon often gives a more representative fit.
Consider band width
Wider bands may feel tighter than narrow bands and can require a slightly different size.
Important: Do not send jewellery before Abbett has reviewed your request and issued written authorization with the correct return instructions.
Resizing Eligibility
Can my ring be resized?
Many rings can be adjusted safely, but the practical range depends on the setting, shank, gemstone layout, metal, engraving and previous alterations. Final eligibility is confirmed only after review.

The Resizing Process
From request to insured return
Every service begins with a review. We confirm feasibility, costs and shipping instructions before your ring is sent.

Contact us
Provide your order number, current ring size, requested size and clear photographs where available.
STEP 02
Review & authorization
We assess the design, explain any limitations, confirm charges and issue written shipping instructions.
STEP 03
Workshop service
After receipt, the ring is inspected, resized, checked for stone security, cleaned and quality controlled.
STEP 04
Insured return
Once complete, we arrange insured return delivery using the approved shipping method.
Fees & Timing
Clear terms before work begins
All resizing remains subject to design review and physical inspection. Chargeable work begins only after you approve the quotation and pay any required amount.
Eligible complimentary service
Within 60 days
Complimentary resizing labour for an eligible Abbett ring adjusted up or down by no more than one full size.
- Customer normally covers inbound and return shipping
- Insurance, customs and taxes are not included
- Design feasibility still applies
Chargeable resizing
Quotation provided
Applies after 60 days, for changes over one full size, or when the design requires non-standard work.
- Price depends on metal, design and condition
- Photographs or physical inspection may be required
- Approval is required before work begins

Measured from receipt of the ring and all required authorization. Complex work or remaking takes longer.

Warranty & Returns
Protecting your ring after resizing
Resizing should preserve the ring’s structure, setting security and finish. For that reason, alterations should be completed or authorized by Abbett.
Resizing completed by Abbett does not by itself cancel the Limited Lifetime Warranty. Coverage remains subject to the full warranty terms and inspection.
Unauthorized resizing, repair or modification may void warranty coverage for affected components or damage connected to that work.
Jewellery resized or altered at the customer’s request is generally not eligible for a change-of-mind return or exchange.
Approved resizing, remaking, shipping, customs and related service charges are normally non-refundable unless Abbett confirms otherwise or mandatory law requires it.
