Four Reliable Methods

Choose your measuring method

Measure at home with the tools you have available, or visit a local jeweller for professional sizing.

Method 1

Use an Existing Ring

This is one of the easiest ways if you already own a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.

1Choose a ring that fits the correct finger.

2Place it flat on a ruler and measure the inside diameter across the widest point.

3Match the measurement to the conversion chart.

Important: Measure inner edge to inner edge only. Do not include the metal band.

Method 2

Paper or String Wrap

Use a thin strip of paper or non-stretch string to measure the circumference of the finger.

1Wrap the paper around the base of the ring finger.

2Mark the overlap point with a pen.

3Lay the strip flat and align one mark to 0 on a ruler.

4Measure the length between the start and the mark, then match it to the chart.

Tip: Keep the wrap snug but comfortable. It should slide over the knuckle with slight resistance.

Printable Ring Sizer

Use a printable sizer when you want a guided wrap-around measuring tool.

1Print the ring sizer at 100% scale.

2Cut along the outline and slit.

3Wrap it with the numbers facing out.

4Pull snugly and read your size.

Print check: Do not use “fit to page”. Print at actual size.

Method 4

Visit a Local Jewellery Store

For extra confidence, ask a professional jeweller to measure your finger with a set of ring-sizing gauges.

1Contact a nearby jewellery store and confirm that professional ring sizing is available.

2Have the exact finger and hand you plan to wear the ring on measured.

3Tell the jeweller the approximate width and style of the ring you intend to purchase.

4Ask for your US ring size and, if available, the measured circumference in millimetres.

Best for accuracy: Ask to try sizing rings close to the width of your intended ring, as wider bands can feel tighter.

A properly fitted ring should feel secure without pinching and slide over the knuckle with slight resistance.

Wide bands

Can Abbett make quarter sizes?

Yes. Many Abbett made-to-order rings can be produced in quarter sizes.

Can all rings be resized?

Not all designs can be resized. Full eternity bands, highly detailed bands, and certain gemstone settings may have limited resizing options.
